There are a variety of reasons to use a free WordPress theme over a premium WordPress theme. A few of the reasons are they are free, easy to find through WordPress and most of the licensing allows you to do what you want with them. Premium themes have taken their features and functionalities to the next level. Why use a free theme that is basically barebones, when a marketer or Blogger can spend a little money on a premium theme and basically have a business in a box. Using a free theme would require them to purchase many plugins, have scripts created and pay for a whole lot of other things just to get the theme to support their business. It makes more sense for a internet marketer or Blogger to pay for their themes, versus using the free versions.
