WordPress paid themes have been around longer than ninety percent of all online business. Are you aware a majority of the first premium theme programmers had their start in early 2004? In internet years, that is a very long time! It was during those early years, that themes moved ahead slowly. Premium themes were not all the rage yet, there was really no need for them.
In the years 2004 to 2006 WordPress was just getting noticed. It held a small portion of the market in website development. Most users were only Bloggers, writers or journalists. There were not many that used the platform to sell products.
Back then themes were rather simple. It had become enough to have a simple graphical user interface to provide posts and pages. There was clearly really no need for highly developed plugins or Google type tools. Level of competition was very light also it was very easy to get a online site ranked and gaining internet traffic; most of the time it just took the website going live with just a bit of article marketing to make a small bit of money. Yet as the web grew, so did the very thought of promoting goods on the net. Marketing took on a different face. This lead the way for more advanced themes and plugins. The wordpress platform was taking root inside of the affiliate marketing community.
During 2007 -2008 WordPress started to achieve market share as a platform for Bloggers and marketers. WP premium themes started to find their way into the market place. Woo themes made its debut as well as other wordpress premium themes. The more advanced layouts and user interfaces allowed a Blogger to perform more by using a WordPress site. Headers, footers, sidebars and others became areas for promoting products, instead of ideas.
Fast forward to present time and you will see wordpress paid themes that not only advertise for the marketers, but are specific to the niche they are working in. For almost all marketers this has been a dream come true. The time needed to make a internet site, configure, add content and promote the site, has been reduced.
With the beginning of WordPress 2.x and 3.x, technology allowed the wordpress paid themes to take advantage of multiple navigation bars, widget areas, sliders, unique fonts and visual objects. PHP, MySQL and HTML matured right along with WordPress allowing coders to do amazing things with theme code and CSS layouts.
Programming language became extremely easy to use. Microsoft released development tools that not only allowed the programmer to easily work in PHP and MySQL, but also allowed the programmer to host a WordPress website locally. They opened doors for countless new programmers. Fresh new premium theme content was introduced into the market. This drove years of WP theme technology breakthroughs.
Internet advancements are nowhere near complete. There are still a lot of new ideas and newer themes hitting the market. Just when you think you seen it all, something new comes that takes WordPress themes to the next level. The focus is now on automation. Soon themes will hit the market that not only setup and configure a site for you, but will also do the niche research.
