A house is place where everyone wants to relax after a long tiring day at work, you expect it to be safe and secured and where one can spend not just quantity time but also quality time. When you think of a warm cozy house, you instantly get the image of a dim light, with wood sticks burning in a chimney, a pot of soup on heat a couch nearby with a book or newspaper on the coffee table. This is not hard to imagine, almost everyone has a picture of what is described. All we need is a bit of energy in the house and are more purpose specific in its usage.
Let’s face the fact, not everyone who talks about going green cares about the environment. It’s what suits their need. What's going to get you to do whatever you can to make your home the way you want it? There should be logic behind every decision, especially when it comes to home people consider what will work with them in the long run and not just for the moment.

If we have to conclude it in a nut shell, energy efficient is all about removing the wastage and getting what you can from the things you had spent big bucks before. It happened before and it still does happen that kids are asked to close the doors when its chilling winters and scorching summers, to turn off all lights and electrical appliances when not in use, not to open the door of refrigerator for too long.
If you are thinking you still follow these rules and follow energy efficient rules, then you are not completely right. Energy efficiency is not just limited to closing doors and turning off lights, it includes right from the construction of the house. It is all about choosing the right material for the house, getting the designs correctly constructed and usage of quality systems that takes less energy to operate.
There are quite a lot of things that join in together to give you an energy efficient house. The doors, windows, walls and even insulation of the interiors and exteriors should not let the heat or cold of the house escape. Highly efficient heating and cooling system should be installed which gives the maximum for the amount of energy consumed. Natural resources like, solar light, breeze, wind etc should be utilized wherever they can in the house.
As a result you will have a house that is energy efficient and the products used are giving the best you can receive for your money. The best energy efficient homes are the ones that are built keeping the go green slogan in mind while getting it constructed. There are many residential builders who are experienced and licensed in building such homes. Ask your friends and family to refer you to a good construction builder and check for reviews online. If you have seen any of your neighbors getting their home constructed from a good residential builder ask them to refer him to you.
