The development of the Light Valkee headset is based on recent research in the areas of brain research and the study of light therapy. Since 2007, a 20-member interdisciplinary team of researchers involved in the University of Oulu * (Finland) with the object of research. The team consists of scientists from the fields of neurobiology, psychiatry and brain research. In total, more than 350 subjects were examined. In order for the project Valkee one of the largest study programs for light therapy research.
The research group studies the OPN3 localized protein (known as light-sensitive photoreceptor protein) in all 18 examined brain sections. For the first time light-sensitive proteins have been found outside of the visual system in the brain. The examined brain areas are mainly responsible for the production and storage of serotonin and melatonin. So that these brain regions significantly influence the mood, sleep, and the emergence of depression.
In clinical studies, the Valkee to obtain the medical CE
Certification is carried out, were 92% (9 of 10 patients) of hard at the affected seasonal pending depression subjects ("winter blues") to the four-week application of bright light through the ear canal about 8 to 12 minutes per day without symptoms.
Valkee use of Bright Light Headset:
• 9 of 10 severely depressed people could be healed in 4 weeks of therapy with the Valkee Bright Light headset.
• The headset Valkee Bright Light heals in 9 out of 10 cases, seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Also known as winter depression.
• Based on sound research base.
• The Bright Light Valkee headset has the second-class medical CE certification
• No known side effects.
• Shorter duration of session (8 to 12 minutes) compared to "conventional" light therapy devices (30 minutes to two hours).
• Compact and portable design of the Bright Light Valkee headset.
• When is the Valkee Bright Light Headset is a wireless device.
• Not more than a regular MP3 player.
• Simple and easy to use
The human brain is mostly sensitive to light. The found photoreceptor proteins convert light stimuli into neural signals. If one light directly above the ear canal that leads to brain sections, the immediate reaction of the light-sensitive cells is caused,
