There are many ways to save money on a new Macbook Pro. Some of them will save you $20, while others have the potential to save you hundreds of dollars. In today's difficult economy, it has become essential to save as much money as possible on the things that we need. So, in light of the situation, I have found 3 ways to get the best possible discount on a Macbook Pro. These are the Apple Education Store, the Apple Refurbished Store, and various free giveaways. Here are some of the pros and cons of each.
The Apple Education Store is perhaps the most well-known of all of these methods. Whenever you hear someone remark on how expensive Apple computers are, you'll almost always hear someone say "Hey, just go to the Education Store." But these same people never tell you how much they saved. So, here's the deal. A Macbook Pro on the Apple Education Store website is marked down either $100 or $200, depending on the model. Both of the 13 inch models are marked down $100, as is the cheaper of the 15 inch models. The higher end 15 inch and 17 inch Macbook Pro gets a discount of $200. This means, that for a 15 inch Macbook Pro, you still pay $1,699. In the end, this doesn't seem like a discount. Also, it's only available to students and teachers. Apple does confirm eligibility before you can order, so don't expect to get the discount if you are not a student or teacher. In short, this method is not as lucrative as it may seem.
The next biggest suggestion that is thrown around a lot is the Refurbished Models section of the Apple Store. Like most computer companies, Apple offers a significant discount on rebuilt and re-certified products. Many of these models have been used as display models, or were returned for minor, easily repaired defects. All models sold as refurbished by Apple carry the same 1 year warranty as a brand new computer. However, getting the newest model can be a challenge. If you can find one, however, savings can be $300 to $350, which is a significantly better deal than buying as a student. However, many people have no confidence in refurbished goods. If you feel that the savings are worth any trouble that might arise for a broken product, or are willing to buy a slightly older model, then buying an Apple re-certified Macbook Pro may be the solution for you.
There are also many free giveaways on the internet as well. Most people stay away from the ones that require you to complete multiple different offers, as those are not really free, although $200 to $300 is actually a great deal. However, there are many contests that allow you to enter for free, and although it is not guaranteed that you will win, they are a completely cost free method to obtaining a Macbook Pro.
As you can see, it is entirely possible to get a significant discount on a Macbook Pro. Although it may seem that to get the best deal, you would have to do a lot more work, that isn't the case. These discounts are available to a wide variety of people. It is entirely possible to use any one of these methods to save a couple hundred dollars on a laptop that will last for many years. There are even methods that will save you almost the entire purchase price.
