Protect your Car Seat

When I am at the baby show I often talk to customers about the many benefits of using our product in the car, one of them is because it protects your car seat by acting as a car seat cover and allowing you to wash the wrap instead of having to take car seats apart. The parents that have had to do this will totally understand what a complete nightmare it is to take the cover off wash and then work out which straps go where to get it back on before realising that the straps are twisted! It is so frustrating and any product that means you don’t have to do this is a real benefit.
There are many ways to protect your car seat, you can buy car seat covers for all the seats in your car which can be waterproof, this is a great idea if you need to keep you car really clean for work or if you regularly change cars and want to keep it in great condition. If you buy standard covers they should fit most cars and so you can move them when you change your car.
Some people tuck a blanket into the seat so that at least the bottom is protected. You must remember that anything that you add to your car must be safe and not affect the safety of the car seats and straps.
When I was researching car seat covers I was amazed at the choice, there are three reasons most people choose to buy them. One is that they want to funk up their car and make it look cool, like the seat covers that look like racing seats. The other reason is to protect the upholstery of the car, so prevent ware and tear and waterproof so that any spills, mud, wet dogs cannot get through to the seat. The other reason is comfort, you can get covers that have padding in them to make the seat more comfortable, another trend I remember from when I was a child is the beaded seats that look like they will be really uncomfortable but actually improve the comfort.
These are still available and you can actually get customised car seat covers that actually are made to order to fit the seat exactly.
Most of the time having children is the main cause for a mess in the car, they will have food and drink on a long journey which can be spilt or dropped and then leave rubbish in the car. My children bring toys and activities with them that often get left in the car for months. You can get bins for the car, but I find having a carrier bag in the car does the job and also encouraging them to take everything out with them when they get out does help. The only way to really protect the seats properly is to have car seat covers and mats on the floor.
I have children myself and I write about products and tips which are useful to parents, they cover making life less fuss and more fun, saving time and getting out and about with young babies and children. Some of my articles are interesting but they try to have a bit of fun and laughter about them.
