If you have a family or even live by yourself then I am sure you know the cost of laundry detergent and other laundry products. Washing your clothes alone can be expensive, especially if you use a laundry mat so it is important that you use all the tricks you know to save money when you wash your clothes.
One of the easiest ways to save money when you do laundry is to use coupons for the products that you buy on a regular basis. One of the biggest expenses in washing clothes is the laundry detergent, but luckily for you there are many laundry detergent coupons that you an use. Most coupons for laundry detergent are fairly high value, ranging from one dollar to five dollars in savings. The five dollar coupons are harder to find but it is not uncommon to find a coupon for one dollar off laundry detergent. Some of the most popular brands of detergent are tide, purex and gain and you can almost always find tide coupons and other coupons to save money.
There are quite a few more ways to reduce the cost of washing your clothes. One method that is smart to consider is to find high efficiency washing machines and driers. If you are moving into a new house, or your old washing machine or drier breaks and can not be repaired or perhaps it is very very old you should consider replacing it with a high efficiency machine to save money on water and hydro. If you do this you will save money on your hydro bill and on your electricity bill every month.
Another tip is to always wash in cold water, some people do not think that this will help them save but this is a great tip if you want to be frugal when cleaning your clothing. Cold water costs less because you just draw it right from the tap, but if you use hot water it will need to be heated up first. Using hot water makes use of the water heater which is not very efficient. The best way to save is to simply not use the hot water and only wash in cold water.
If you are being frugal when it comes to clothing another very good tip is to find a good used clothing store. Some stores take donated clothes, while other clothing stores will only take select brands of clothing or only vintage clothes. You can usually find very good quality clothing for more than half the price that you will pay in the stores, in fact I just bought a brand name sweater that normally costs one hundred dollars for only twenty dollars.
If you want to save money when you are washing your clothes my favorite method is to use coupons. There are quite a few good coupon websites and I will share my favorite ones at the bottom of this article. When looking for coupons try to find ones that are printable, if you find a printable coupon you can print it off at home and use it at any store. These are great because you can get them instantly.
I love purex detergent so check out Purex coupons. If you use fabric softener then be sure to check out the page for downy coupons.
