Here is the good and bad about templates. What you should know, and to keep you informed on the latest from the web, we've gone the extra mile and added a few small details so you don't make the same mistakes the other guys made. Now we all want to appease the almighty Google and make sure we build out the properly indexed website. Here are the positives and negatives regarding templates.
Firstly templates cost money. There usually isn't a template out there that doesn't cost a nominal amount of money. So off the bat, you are spending money. Now let's talk about what you get in the eyes of Google.
Here is a little known fact about Google. Google does not like clones. It views clones as spam and spam is something that Google is not interested in delivering it's users. There are many templates currently in the market that for one or another reasons do not get looked at by Google. Google has in its arsenal an indexing algorithm that is so sophisticated, there is no way to stay on top of the changes. It is rumored that the algorithms have the ability to learn on their own, by themselves how and what to index. There are so many websites and so many new websites that pop up all the time. The fact that nobody sees Google as a gigantic powerhouse that is capable of destroying any business online at a whim is deluded. Web developers who have looked at templates in the past may notice that there is more work involved in gutting and completely cleaning out a website than there is actually building a website from scratch. What if a high end web design firm misses everything and Google continues to look at a clone? This might not do well by the one editing the website.
So not only will a template be a clone in the eyes of Google, it will look and feel like a template. Target audiences also do not respond to template style work. There are so many websites now engaged in the practice of setting up websites that have the ability to market any business however if a template is being used a target market may look at the graphics and the stock imagery and based on the (non-uniqueness) regarding the website, they most likely will not buy, pick up the phone or take action of any kind.
Here is a conclusion that everyone looking to build a website should heed. Templates are not an effective way to start and run a company. There are many who would say that if you are serious about starting a company and the budget is just not there in order to start up the basic necessary operations then one should wait for adequate funding before engaging on any project especially if this project has not been carefully looked at or thoroughly examined by a top web agency. High end web design is one of the ways you can find a firm that is reputable and aspires to bring the top of the top web solutions home for your business.
