Everyone loves the sound of running water, especially when it is inside a home or office space. There is just something about trickling water that calms our senses and soothers our inner voices so that we may relax and remember nature’s voice instead.
One way to quickly and very often cheaply jazz up any living space or office is to bring in a little trickling water from the outside. There are so many different options for water fountains today that no space seems too small or big for one. Some indoor water fountains simply mount on a wall and are no bigger than a shoe box, while other indoor water fountains may be standing, triple layered Spanish-style ceramic fountains with very prominent décor and needing a large central location, such as a foyer or lobby area.
Regardless of what type or size of an indoor fountain you select, the fact is that, the soothing sounds of flowing water will provide a way to drown out background noise and replace it with a calming sound that everyone will respond to.
There are few negatives to installing an indoor fountain but you do want to remember that, if you have pets or small children, large, accessible fountains may need to be safeguarded against any unwanted "swimmers." But by providing the soothing sounds of water flow you also do something else that’s good for you: you replace the air in your space with negative ions, which have been shown to improve mood and energy levels.
Whether you are going for a little tranquility in your home or office or just want to add a little visual appeal, for that serene feeling, you want to select an indoor fountain that doesn’t splash or run so hard that it creates distraction or noise. The sound of your running indoor fountain should be gentle, like the sound of a running stream, and it should not splash all over your floors or walls, but gently flow down into the ceramic "dish" or bowl and feed back up again.
Many homeowners select indoor fountains to add appeal to their homes or reflect their lifestyles or religious backgrounds. You can personalize a water fountain with inscriptions, statues of your coveted deities, animals or other features of nature that tell your guests a little about you and offer a sneak peak into your personal preferences.
Here’s something else you may want to consider. By putting a running indoor fountain inside a room in your home or office, you automatically add moisture into the air. This can help reduces issues connected to dryness, which causes which of course can be difficult on our skin, sinus and other issues.
So putting an indoor fountain has the unique ability to both provide soothing sounds for mediation and relaxation, which of course are known to be highly beneficial health benefits for anyone, not just those prone to stress. In addition, a water fountain can also act as a humidifier to revitalize your breathing, moisturize your skin and even provide extra moisture for your indoor greenery!
There are many places to purchase indoor water fountains today. Specialty stores offering garden and home ceramic pots and other items. Keep in mind: indoor water fountains are generally quite heavy, so you’ll want to plan for that when you go shopping! Take a truck, get a friend to help with the lifting, or find a retailer of offers delivery and set up and save yourself the trouble.
