Finding the best sand filter for your pool entails doing excellent research which will enable you to select the best from the plethora out there. We’ve done some of the groundwork for you with this comparison.
Sta-Rite
This is definitely one of the leading brands in sand filters in particular, as well as the swimming pool industry in general. No matter if you have a backyard or a commercial pool, Sta-Rite will take care of your needs. Its top three sand filters are as follows:
The Cristal-Flo
It is easy to work in comparison with other filters as its control valve handle can be turned effortlessly. It is durable and not prone to corrosion or rust, being made of an extra thick polyethylene tank. It is best suited to backyard pools, ponds, or fountains. This costs about $350.
The HRPB
It is suited for in-ground pools and hot tubs as well as commercial pools. Its model 24 can turn over up to 22,000 gallons of water, and model 30 has a turnover of 35,000 gallons of water, both in a 6-hour time span. With its increased capacity and innovative designs, the HRPB offers better handling of dirt. Priced at around $1050.

This filter features a two-piece tank housing which is made of Dura-Glas (which is a glass reinforcement product that only Sta-Rite possesses.) This filter uses a two-drain plug system: the side one aids sand removal and the bottom one eases draining. The 3 can be used with in-ground pools of any shape or size, fishponds, fountains, and spas. You can choose between model S7S50 which can turn over 17,000 gallons or the S8S70 which can turn over 25,000 gallons, both in 6 hours. Costs start at $190. That’s it for the Sta-Rite filters. Let’s give some other brands a fair chance!
