Summer is here and that means humidity coming in full force. Depending on where you live, humidity can cause a lot of cleaning headaches. Humidity needs to be dealt with both inside the house as well as outside. I will share some tips and tricks on how to stay clean and dry in the humid summer.
- Clean the Refrigerator
The refrigerator should be cleaned of old food once a week to decrease the chance of mold. The surfaces of the fridge should be wiped down frequently to rid any bacteria buildup. A non-toxic cleaner is key to stay safe and healthy. Eco-Reviver is a perfect safe solution for fridge clean-up.
- Clean all hard surfaces
Wipe down counter tops and any other hard surface in your home. It is best to use warm water when dealing with surfaces to ensure all dirt is lifted off. Doing this weekly or more can ensure a clean family environment. Humidity will not play a major role in hard surface cleanliness but moisture buildup on these surfaces can house bacteria. A safe cleaner if best for these surfaces
- Toss Out Items that Are Hard to Clean
Rugs, books, wall coverings, and paper products are all hard to clean and retain water. It is best to discard of these items if they become dirty or wet. These items take a long time to dry and are not easily wiped down. In the summer the moisture can grow moldy so throw away any of these items as soon as they show any signs of uncleanliness.
- Clean Dark or Damp Places Frequently
It is impossible to prevent moisture buildup during the summer months, but be sure to fight it off whenever possible. This means frequently cleaning dark, damp places around your house. If you see or smell something funky take care of it immediately. A non-toxic cleaner like Eco Reviver is perfect for tackling these household messes. It will fight off the buildup and be immediately safe for children and pets.
