A Chinese smartphone brand "Huawei" has always been playing exquisitely catching up to the choice of smartphone brands e.g. Samsung and Apple. Best efforts of Apple and Samsung aside for a short while, Huawei’s flagship smartphones always seem to fall short of the standards set by Galaxy smartphones and iPhones.

With a gorgeous Leica tri-camera configuration and a massive competitive price tag making P20 Pro a most important and impressive flagship smartphone around. Undeniably, there is still room for improvements but without a doubt, it’s the flagship of 2018 we all had been waiting for.

Huawei P20 Pro – Design and Display

Whether you love or hate, notches have been spread like an infection from one smartphone to another and excitingly Huawei P20 Pro isn’t an exception. If you really don’t like it, you can hide it as Huawei added an option to darken the notched area but notifications will still be displayed on either side. Moving on, bezels of P20 Pro aren’t thin enough to justify the need for a notch. A little space should have been added for a FaceTime sensor.

A fingerprint scanner is holding its position on its back and a rear camera is positioned vertically at the top left side of a phone. The device itself looks premium as it is made of Glossy Metal Frame, making it easy to get a good grip. Do you prefer a matte finish? How about going for the Graphite Black Model?

Moving on its display department, measuring bright and crisp 6.1-inches from rounded corner to rounder corner 2240 x 1080 Full HD+ display is gorgeous. The display has excellent contrast, great colors, and perfect good pixels density. Very much unlike OLED panels, it doesn’t suffer a visible blue tint when viewing off-axis.

Huawei P20 Pro – Performance and Battery

The P20 Pro really shines when it comes to performance. Its Kirin 970 Chipset isn’t quite as new as Snapdragon 845, though but it performs splendidly. Perhaps you won’t find good benchmark scores but an overall score of 2980 can give us an indication of the phone’s best performance. As far as multitasking and graphics-intensive gaming are concerned, Huawei P20 Pro wouldn’t disappoint at all.

Backed by an impressive 4000mAh battery, it’s delivering great battery life. Heavy users do get about five hours of screen-on time, whereas moderate users get a little more than that. Five hours screen-on time included numerous Hearthstone and PUBG Mobile matches, making five hours quite an inspiring than it sounds.

Huawei P20 Pro – Triple Cameras

The camera is as handsome as P20 Pro itself is. The handset has an insane Leica tri-camera system. The idea of combining 40MP RGB, a 20MP monochrome and an 8MP telephoto camera appeared like overload. It combines the information from four adjacent pixels into one which results in brighter and detailed images. There are some software improvements as well including AI image stabilization for capturing four-second long exposure images with a bit handshake or blur. However, image quality is superb no matter the light condition. On the other hand, FaceTime sensor is 24MP which helps users in capturing selfies with their nearest and dearest and for video calls as well.
