The dark web is mysterious, but it’s also fascinating. It’s a place where you can find all sorts of things that would be impossible to access on the regular internet. From online marketplaces to sites that let you conduct discussions about current events anonymously, the dark web is home to some pretty amazing and scary stuff.
But, with the increase in cyber threats, it’s important to be smart about what you download from the dark web. If you do, then you can avoid malware infections and other threats that could wreak havoc on your computer.
While many of the dark web links found on site aggregators are shady, there are also some that offer legitimate services. These include sites that help people break free of censorship in their country and whistleblower websites. There are even some surprising sites that are present on the dark web, including Facebook!
Almost anyone who has spent time on the internet is familiar with the Tor network. It’s the technology that underpins the dark web, a collection of sites that can only be accessed through a special browser called Tor. These sites are unindexed by search engines like Google, and they’re protected by layers of encryption that make it very difficult for law enforcement to track who visits them.
As more people are using Tor, we’re seeing more sites that are available only on the dark web. One of the most popular is Hidden Answers, which is like a dark web version of Reddit or Quora. It’s a place where users can ask questions and receive advice from the community without fear of repercussions. Questions on Hidden Answers have ranged from the mundane, such as what to wear to a job interview, to more personal queries, like whether you’d want your head cryo-frozen after death.
Another notable dark web site is ZeroBin, a site that offers a way to share files on the Tor network in complete anonymity. You simply paste your file link into the website, and ZeroBin’s servers encrypt it on your behalf before sending it to the server. The files are then deleted at a later date. This service is similar to other clearnet alternatives, but ZeroBin offers two key advantages: it doesn’t require Tor and it’s password-protected.
Other popular dark web sites include Intel Exchange, which lets you discuss topics of interest to you with other anonymous users. You can even find discussions on current events there, including a dark web version of Wikileaks. Other useful sites are also present on the dark web, including a mirror of Facebook that lets you use the social media platform without exposing your privacy to the company’s data-hungry tentacles, and SecureDrop, which is software that NGOs and news sites can install to receive leaks from whistleblowers in a safe manner.
While you’re checking out these dark web links, don’t forget to protect your computer with a VPN like PureVPN! It’s the best way to keep your data and identity safe while you browse the dark web.
