Africa is one of the best places to visit on a holiday. It is recommended that every individual should travel to Africa at least once in their lifetime. It is a huge continent with diverse wildlife and locations. Part of the charm of going on a holiday in Africa is the fact that much of the continent is not developed. Some parts have remained unchanged for literally thousands of years. Guests to this special continent get to witness nature as it was when our ancient ancestors walked the earth. This article shall briefly describe four wonderful destinations in Africa where guests are sure to enjoy the best of Africa.
The first destination in Africa that guests should visit is Tanzania. Two main attractions draw visitors to Tanzania. The first reason is the great migration in the Serengeti. This is a spectacular natural event where countless wildebeest and zebra migrate through the great planes. The animals travel in their millions in a circular route thousands of kilometers long following the seasonal rains. On the way, they have to cross rivers that are home to large Nile crocodiles, are hunted by predators such as lions and leopards, and face natural disasters such as droughts and flooding in a daily struggle for survival.
The second destination in Africa that guests should visit is South Africa. South Africa is a famous destination because of its rich history and wildlife. it is the home of icons such as Nelson Mandela who was jailed for twenty-eight years and later became the president of the country. South Africa has the second biggest economy in Africa and has beautiful world-class hotels and facilities. It is the most developed country in Africa. A large attraction that draws visitors to South Africa is the coastal City of Cape Town and the Kruger National Park. Visitors to Cape Town often remark on how the architecture of the city resembles Europe. Visitors here also get to go on yacht cruises and take part in beach activities, whilst being a short drive away from wildlife safari parks where they can view diverse animals. One cannot truly appreciate their visit to South Africa and Cape Town without hiking the great and large Table Mountain. Table Mountain is unique in the world in that it is almost entirely situated in a vibrant metropolitan area. The Kruger National Park is one of the most well-known wildlife sanctuaries on the planet. It is home to a large population of diverse wildlife including the Big Five (the African lion, the African elephant, the black and white rhino, the Cape Buffalo and the leopard).
The third destination in Africa that guests should visit is Botswana. Botswana is a large country in the Southern Part of Africa. The country shares a border with Zimbabwe and South Africa. It has a low concentration of human beings in comparison to the amount of land. There are large expanses of land that are very wild and untouched by human beings. One would not see a single drop of litter or any evidence of human activity for hundreds of miles. The main attraction that draws visitors to Botswana is the wildlife. This place has the largest population of elephants on the planet. The country also has a large population of predators such as lions and hyenas. Visitors are most drawn to the Okavango Delta, the largest inland delta on the planet. The Okavango River spills into the desert creating a wildlife paradise that supports diverse animals. Many of the shows seen on National Geographic Wild and Animal Planet are filmed in this country.
The final destination that guests should visit in Africa is Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is also a country in the Southern part of Africa. It is one of the most beautiful countries on the planet. It is one of the few places in the world to enjoy a truly authentic African safari holiday. Visitors will be treated to world-class accommodation in Zimbabwe. One of the main attractions to Zimbabwe is the mighty Victoria Falls. It is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Victoria Falls is an awe-inspiring site that is the largest curtain of falling water on the planet. Another big attraction to Zimbabwe is Hwange National Park. This national park has the largest concentration of elephants on earth. The park gained some notoriety when its resident male lion, called Cecil, was lured out of the park and shot by an American trophy hunter. Tourism is one of the biggest sectors of the nation's economy. The country prides itself on giving guests unforgettable experiences they will treasure. This is a safe and welcoming country
In conclusion, Africa is a great continent to visit. Unlike visiting a zoo where all the animals are confined to a cage, in Africa you get to step into the domain of wildlife. Visitors to the continent are sure to return home feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Anyone who can travel to the continent should certainly visit. It is truly a great place to enjoy a holiday. Guests return from Africa with a new understanding and perspective about nature and their own place within nature.
