In today's society, it is disheartening to witness the behavior of some girls in this generation. It’s a generation that is genuinely messed up and cruel. They engage in toxic actions such as spreading rumors, talking behind each other's backs, sabotaging friendships, and even attempting to steal boyfriends or best friends. It is evident that this generation of girls is facing a crisis when it comes to empathy and respect for one another.
The girls of this generation are so “fake". You will be greeted with a smile and the word "pretty" by them, but they will later turn around and talk bad about you to others. They act like your friend on the shallow front but they harbor ulterior motives. They make you realize your haters are much closer than you might believe. And it’s sad that the truly good ones fall victim to fake friends. They are ones that are easy to take advantage of. They are subjected to abuse and manipulation because of their kindness. On top of that, do you know what they are called? Weak. This misjudgment stems from a misunderstanding of the true strength people have. Truly good people possess the ability to empathize, show kindness, and maintain harmonious relationships. Their strength lies in their ability to rise above negativity and choose compassion over aggression. But in today’s generation, no aggression equals weakness.
It astounds me sometimes how far some girls will go to ruin another girl's name. And what’s the most classic way of doing such? Rumors, rumors, and even more rumors. There are many reasons why girls do so, but they are heartless towards the effects of this action. Some girls resort to making false rumors as a means of gaining power or control within their social circle. By spreading damaging information about others, they may feel a temporary sense of superiority or dominance over their peers. In this competitive environment, where popularity and acceptance are highly valued, such actions can serve as a misguided attempt to elevate oneself at the expense of others. They don’t care how expensive their actions can get for other people. Even insecurity and jealousy often play a significant role in the propagation of false rumors among girls. As girls compare themselves to one another and grapple with feelings of inadequacy, they resort to tarnishing someone else's reputation in an attempt to alleviate their own insecurities. They tear each other down in order to feel better about themselves or divert attention away from their own perceived flaws. It is the ones who are truly unhappy with themselves that choose to break down others and make them spark their insecurities.
You know this generation of girls are also thieves. Thieves of stealing each other's friends and boyfriends. In the complex social landscape of high school, it is not uncommon to witness instances where girls steal each other's friends and boyfriends. Buy why? Why do they do this? Why are girls so interested in what they can’t have and choose to go after it knowing it’s not there? Insecurity, validation, and competition. Simple. Girls resort to stealing friends or boyfriends as a means of boosting their own self-esteem. By surrounding themselves with popular or desirable individuals, they hope to gain validation and feel more accepted within their friend group. In high school, relationships serve as symbols of desirability and attractiveness. By “stealing" someone else's friend or boyfriend, girls seek confirmation that they are desirable themselves. This quest for validation often stems from societal pressures that place immense importance on being in a relationship during adolescence. Along with that high school is an intensely competitive environment where popularity and social status are highly valued. Many girls perceive their friends' relationships as threats to their own standing within the social hierarchy. Consequently, they engage in manipulative tactics to undermine these friendships or romantic connections in order to maintain or improve their own position.
However, amidst all the negativity, some still choose to rise above these petty actions. Despite being mistreated or betrayed by others, they continue to care for and support their peers who may not necessarily deserve it. This ability to display kindness and love in the face of adversity is truly commendable.
Girls must support girls. Ultimately, it is essential for every girl in this generation to reflect upon their actions and consider how they contribute to either perpetuating toxicity or fostering positivity. You don’t have to like every one; that’s fair. It is understandable that it is challenging to like everyone we encounter. But please, grow up. Even if you don't have to get along with everyone, it's not difficult to be a little nice and show a little love and respect to each other.
