A grueling technological brawl between Steve Job's Apple Computer, Inc. and Bill Gate's Microsoft Corporation has been steadily evolving for around 30 years. And with an almost constant tech-like arms race that showed no breaks or stops, one would think exhaustion would set in. Instead, the already brewing tension recently prompted hot business waters to boil over with the introduction of Apple's clever and hip "PC vs. Mac" television adverts that specifically focus on demonizing and poking fun at Microsoft's products.
Among the product bashings include Microsoft's Windows Vista and their "slow to catch up with the world" operating systems. These new advertisements spotlight two technically inclined, real people caricatures, each representing their corresponding companies of Apple or Microsoft; Microsoft's acts as a dorky, middle-aged, parted-hair, traditional businessman who gets the humorous and brutal honesty dished to him from a hip Apple actor, confident and knowledgeable as a young adult, casually dressed new-age worker.
The caricatures clash completely, from their clothing, personalities and perspectives. These adverts are perfect in paralleling and putting on display the all too drastic differences between both companies' technologies and cultures. Let's face it, Microsoft is business-oriented with more concern toward monies and marketing to their narrower and accustomed consumers. Whereas, Apple is more tech-savvy, pushing the limit with innovativeness and staying novel, all while accommodating to young adults with technologically appreciative minds.
Based off advert aesthetics and overall appeal, Apple has won the battle against Microsoft, hands down. Apple's unconventionality and gussied up tech products are far superior when placed next to Microsoft's run of the mill lineup. So, it's quite obvious. The reasons to opt for an Apple product or Mac are innumerable:
Hassle Free, From Purchase To Delivery:
Macs are the most reliable machines on the market. They are known for rarely ever crashing (with much emphasis on the word 'rarely'). It's not uncommon for a Mac to burp once and a while, but it's merely minor stuff. What's even better still, you'll be able to purchase your Mac online, upgrade, customize and personalize in a jiff. Just press order and bam, your new Mac will be delivered within 24 hours. What more could you ask for?
Hassle Free Still:
The day you new Mac arrives, it's all ready to go. Just start it up and let the latest Intel processors make you drool with their superior performance. You'll be able to play with the new sleek and award-winning Mac OS X, but also have the option to run more familiar operating systems such as Windows XP and the current Vista.
Glory Be...Virus Free?:
Yep. Mac's are tanks when it comes to warding off viruses. And, as you well know, viruses are all too common and easily attained through standard PC's. Not on a Mac. With an advanced UNIX foundation and far exceeded standard PC security features, Mac's are foolproof for maintaining a pristine and virus free system. So, why not, for once, really protect yourself and break free of being attached to viruses?
Design and Usability:
The sheer design of a Mac is appealing enough to spur a future purchase. Painstakingly, Apple engineers get nitty gritty with their overall design and gestalt features. Mac's are elegant in their simplicity and sophisticated in their eclectic usability.
The list of reasons why Macs are superior and more refined when compared to standard, semi-loaded PC's or Microsoft products are endless. From their candid and frank TV adverts to their actual products, one can feel a difference about Apple, a positively infused one. Within this difference are advantages that are completely to the user's benefit. So, next time you're PC crashes, or Windows notifies you of a malicious virus –or two, or ten- consider the Mac option. I'm sure you'll be smiling, rather than pulling hairs.
If you're technically inclined and looking for IT certification training don't hesitate. Even consider MCDBA training too. Both are an excellent way to get ahead and attain a career in the IT world.
