What are Tobacco Free Electronic Cigarettes?
Revelle makes a Tobacco Free Electronic, nicotine delivery device that simulates the sensation of smoking without the worry of taking in cancer causing agents and other harmful chemicals that are normally associated with traditional tobacco products. It produces simulated smoke that is actually a vapor mist that looks, tastes, feels and reacts very similar to actual tobacco smoke. When exhaled, the vapor harmlessly evaporates in the surrounding air within a few seconds. It does not use tobacco at all. In fact, the nicotine that is used is synthetic and derived from other natural sources other than tobacco. It’s basic components consist of a battery, an atomizer, a safe, flavored cartridge that is filled with Propylene Glycol and varying degrees of nicotine and a computer chip that controls it all. Both the atomizer and cartridges are considered to be consumables. Cartridges are available in varying amounts of nicotine content, high (18 mg.), medium (12 mg.), low (6 mg) and no nicotine.
How Does Revelle Work?
When the user inhales at the mouthpiece, a small switch is activated and power is delivered to the atomizer. The atomizer creates a vapor derived from the moisture that is found in the cartridge. As the vapor passes through the cartridge, it picks up the nicotine and flavoring and delivers it to the user. The user absorbs the nicotine either through the mucus membranes in the mouth or through the lungs.
Can You Smoke Revelle Anywhere?
Given the fact that Revelle does not utilize burning tobacco, is non flammable and does not produce smoke, the answer is technically yes. Users of Revelle have reported that they freely use the product in restaurants, bars, airports and airplanes.
Many users of Revelle have also reported that it is not uncommon for someone to approach them when they are using the product. The typical response is either, "What on earth is that?" or, "Sorry, but you can’t do that here." A simple explanation and demonstration of the product will usually turn into a friendly discussion about the product.

Who Should Use Revelle?
Revelle is intended for use by existing, adult smokers. It will not be sold to minors as defined by each individual state. Women who are pregnant or breast feeding should not use Revelle. People with health problems should not use Revelle without first consulting their physician.
Is It Less Expensive to Use Revelle than Traditional Cigarettes?
From the standpoint of comparing the cost of a pack of cigarettes to a Revelle Elite cartridge, that really depends on how much one is paying for a pack of cigarettes. It should be noted, however, that a cartridge of Revelle Elite will cost the user approximately $4.00.
What is Nicotine?
Nicotine is an alkaloid that is naturally present in certain plants. A high presence is found in tobacco and a low presence is found in common vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes and green peppers. Nicotine, when delivered in small dosages such as a cigarette, cigar or Revelle, can deliver a feeling of calmness or relaxation. Current available information states that nicotine in and of it self has not been shown to promote the development of cancer in healthy tissue. Additionally, it has not been shown to have any mutagenic properties. This being said, it should also be noted that the International Agency for Research on Cancer has not evaluated nicotine as of this time.
What is Propylene Glycol?
Propylene Glycol is a food additive found in many foods we eat today, such as food coloring, flavoring and also used to keep food, medicines and cosmetics moist. It is considered as generally safe and it is the element in Revelle that helps to create the vapor that simulates smoke.
Does Revelle Produce Harmful Second Hand Smoke?
No. The vapor that is released into the surrounding area is generally harmless and will dissipate in a matter of a few seconds.
