How To Make A Roller Blind - The best method to cover your rooms and kitchen could be a roller blind. The Roller blinds are usually put just attached with the window and could be pulled to allow for maximum light to enter. People after knowing the advantages of these roller blinds often tend to know how to make a roller blind. However it is not at all very difficult to make a roller blind as it can be made easily once you know its procedure. These roller blinds provide a style statement to your decor and can be used in your bathroom, bedroom or kitchen. These blinds are available in different sizes.
If the size of your window is very big, you could opt to section your window into two parts or more. These roller blinds sometimes prove to be cheaper than making curtains. You could even match up with the curtains to give it a layered look. Making a roller blind is very easy. The length and breath of the window could be measured. Aerosol spray is used to stiffen the fabric. After stiffening allow the fabric to dry and later pressed. The fabric could be cut as per your required measurements and ensure the fabric is cut evenly.
Make sure you put the fabric on the flat ground with the other side up, slightly curled (approx. 4cms or less) and stitched very close to the edge of the curl. Your chosen size could be little more than the dowel size. You could cut the dowel little shorter than its width so that it could fit in the casing. Mark the line on the right or left depending upon whether you would like the blind to roll down from behind or front of the roller. A double sided adhesive tape could be put along the marked line. After laying the roller on plain ground, the pulley mechanism should be on the correct side. The strip could be excluded from the adhesive tape and press the upper edge of fabric onto the roller. The fabric should be aligned along the marked line. You could then roll up the blind by your hand, place it in the brackets and pull the roller blind down.
Keep working the blind up and down till the required smoothness is achieved. These blinds can either be fixed inside or outside a window recess. For choosing to make your own one, there are umpteen types of blinds to choose from roll up, roller, wood, pleated, roman and many more. Roller blinds give a very neat and clean look. They can make a room look bigger. Contrasting fabrics are also available for your pick if the plain shade of fabric is not your type. So now you've learnt how to make a roller blind.
