Yes, you’ve probably noticed this in some automobile conventions. You casually walk from car to car and you will hear vague mumblings about HID kits as fast as car racers drive. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to explain the reasons why: Most car aficionados have always placed style and safety right up there on the chart.

Talking about why HID Kits are stylish to use is really an understatement. Check them out together -- you'll notice that they are definitely lighter and brighter than those halogen lights we have in our car. Also, those drab yellow colors that make everything it touches a candidate for hepatitis A now get a thorough makeover. Personality and color now go hand in hand. If you want to create a really unusual and eclectic look, purchase the shiny white lights. For those who prefer subtle melodrama, go with the blue lights, instead. This unique uptake to the behavior of automobile consumers is a big hit to all car lovers everywhere.

In addition, safety is the key. HID headlights are really safer compared to regular halogen lights. One of the reasons is that they are much brighter than halogen lights. The typical lumen (the amount of brightness that comes from a light source) of an H.I.D. light is about 3000 lumens, while a typical halogen light which has 1400 lumens. In fact, studies from experts show that drivers react faster and more accurately to minor roadway accidents when they are using HID lights rather than the halogen ones. The testers believe that the primary reason is due to lucid visibility when using H.I.D. lights.

Also, HID gives off more light from less power than the typical halogen lights. What this means is that the power consumption is greatly lessened. And when there's less power, there is reduced fuel consumption. Consequently, there are lesser CO2 vehicle emissions that will pollute the air.

And lastly, H.I.D. works better than halogen lamps because they last longer. Their average life span is 2000 hours, while halogen bulbs run for about 450 to 1000 hours. The reason? It’s filament. HID bulbs don't include filaments unlike halogen bulbs. They only use gases. Have you ever wondered why some of your household halogen lights literally burn out? It's the filament inside it. When an electric current is placed through them, they give off a much more visible light than using filaments alone. And since there are no filaments, you don't have to worry about malfunctioned headlights when you're driving long distances.

Automobile users are becoming smarter and well-informed in their choices. It’s not enough that cars are excellently made. Now, they also look for the additional features that reflect their personality and style. Combining them makes for a winning combination; and it is something that HID kits have done consistently well for a long time.
