If water gets under the doors, whether it is from rain or snow, it can cause damage to the floor, carpet, tiles, and anything else you have by your doors. It will cause the floor to go weak and move up and down, which means that the floor needs to be replaced, and mold can be under the carpet and the floors. Water will soak into the carpet, causing it to become soggy and wet and can ruin the texture of the carpets it contains, which causes staining, fading, and ruining. A door must not have light showing under it because that can cause water, wind, and moisture to come up under it.
You must have something under the door to keep these things out so it will not do damage to your home. Put a plastic door slider under the doors to block the water and snow out. This will also help keep your house much more warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The littlest of water that can come through under the door can cause damage to a big area of the carpet because it spreads under the carpet. It gets in the fabrics of the carpet, which makes it damage it even more. The water will soak into the wood of the floors, which has to be cleaned up before it causes damage. You will have to lift up the carpet to clean the floors and to get it dried so mold will not set in the floors or the carpets.
It can cause water to get under the metal that is under the door, which can cause mold growth and rotting. The wood under and by the door will have to be replaced as soon as possible so no damage will get worse, and it will not cause problems for the family like allergies, asthma, breathing problems, and much more. If water gets inside the windows, like from around the window or from a hole or a crack in the window, it can cause water to seep in and rot the window seal. It can cause paint to chip or peel, the window frame to separate, or cause mold to grow in the window.
It can stain the window frame black, and it can cause white stains to form on the wood. The outside and inside of the windows can start to fall apart or cause the nails to come out of the wood. It can cause the seals around the window and the metal to come apart or rot, which can cause the window to fall out or cause more water, moisture, and air to come in. You can install hurricane windows because they will last for years and not water, moisture, or wind can get in.
