The Mont Blanc Product Range
The Mont Blanc company made its initial debut in the early 1900s, marketing fountain pens under the name Simplo Fuller. The actual name Mont Blanc comes from a line of pens that they began to market after their initial rather plain fountain pens made an initial poor showing on the market.
An Extensive Mont Blanc Product Line
Those initial Mont Blanc pens ironically are now some of the most highly coveted pens by collectors around the globe, who pay incredibly large sums of money to add them to their collections. However; since those early days and a subsequent name change to Mont Blanc International GMBH, they have expanded their product line to include watches, fine leather goods, sunglasses, jewelry and fragrances.
Recognized For Their High Level Of Craftsmanship
Mont Blanc is recognized for the high level of craftsmanship and overall quality that goes it to designing and creating everything that makes up their entire product line. Of course this means that most all of what they have to offer can be relatively expensive when compared to other similar products that are available on the market.
A $100,000 Diamond Encrusted Pen
It is their pens however, that they are most readily known for and believe it or not some of their special edition model pens can run upwards of $100,000 in price. However; a Mont Blanc pen in this price range does come completely encrusted with diamonds.
Their Earliest Pen Models
That no doubt is a huge increase in price from their very first Simplo Fuller pen that was marketed under the name "Rouge Et Noir" in 1909. In 1913 what was to be their most famous pen was released and it is what collectors now refer to as their snowflake model. This was the Mont Blanc pen that was to make them known around the globe.
The Mont Blanc Meister Stuck 149 Pen
Since then, Mont Blanc went on to introduce pens such as their ever classic and very sought after Meister Stuck 149 that features an 18K gold hand ground nub with intricate platinum inlay. It now comes in several design variations, including models that are adorned with precious stones, including high quality diamonds.
The Mont Blanc Starwalker Resin Line Of Pens
Their Starwalker Resin line of pens are a very contemporary design that are available in a number of colors and they come in both ball point and classic fountain pen styles. The Starwalker series are very unique in that they are handcrafted from high quality translucent lacquer.
The Mont Blanc Marlene Dietrich Model Pen
Still one more of the many models of pens that are offered by Mont Blanc is the Marlene Dietrich Special Edition. It's a cartridge fountain pen that features a platinum plated 14K hand ground hub that also features a heart shaped hole in it. It is adorned with decorative mother of pearl and an exquisite blue sapphire on the clip.
