A projector is one of the most indispensable electronics used in any office nowadays. it is that gadget that most of the time you see hanging via a thick cable of some sort from the ceiling right in the middle of most of the conference rooms. We all know what it is used for- basically for viewing presentations and other videos on a much larger area like a wall or screen rather than just on your small computer screen. A projector is the device that enables large number of people to view the same thing at one time by a projecting a larger image on the screen.

Quite simply, a photographic slide, or a film of any kind is projected in an enlarged image size through this device on any wall or screen opposite to it. This is the device that helps you watch movies on large screen in cinema halls. However today there are many types f projectors available for both home and office use. The main types of these projectors can be classified into LCD projectors, video projectors and DLP projectors. Though these projectors range in resolution and brightness, a standard projector has the resolution of 800x600 pixels and the ideal brightness for it should be around 1400 lumens. With the advent of domestic projectors, it has become easier to install one at home and get a full movie theatre like experience right in the comfort and personalized setting of your home.

While the LCD projectors used an LCD panel for displaying the primary colors, the DLP projectors (or the Digital Light Processing projectors) introduce path breaking technology in the world of projectors and make viewing a more pleasurable experience. These projectors are the new and latest in projector technology and give a better contrast, sharpness and quality to the picture. At the same time the DLP projectors are light weight thus being easy to carry around and give a much better picture than others.

In the modern age of wireless connectivity where wires are becoming more and more of a hassle, projectors are an important device that needed to really get rid of them. As projectors need to be placed opposite to the screen and also at a certain distance from it, it is more convenient to have a wireless device. Keeping that in mind today many companies have launched wireless projectors that can even be connected wirelessly to the internet and also have great features like zoom lens, digital timer, auto turn off, several picture modes for enhanced viewing and even safety features like password protected operation etc.

The major companies that are offering Projectors in India are Sony, Epson, Acer, BenQ, Sharp, Canon etc. All the brands have models offering competitive features and reasonable prices. The price for a projector can range anywhere from Rs30,000 to Rs2,00,000. You obviously need to see what all features you need from your projector and depending on that you can choose one that suits your requirement the best.
