In Australia, there are 680,000 disadvantaged children who lack the opportunities and resources that many of us can often take for granted. When you donate clothes to The Smith Family, you are bringing quality recycled clothes to families at an affordable price. Good clean, wearable clothing and accessories are valuable donations for The Smith Family. These items are always in demand, but less than 10% of donated items are in good condition. Donate clothes that are good quality, with no rips or stains, or else it will sadly end up as waste.
Many businesses donate clothes from their surplus stock and end of season ranges, helping The Smith Family generate profits through increased sales from a new nonwoven manufacturing production line and new retail stores. All profits go towards helping The Smith Family offset its administration costs.
Why donate clothes?
There are several ways you can help The Smith Family:
· Sponsor a disadvantaged child so their school-related expenses are covered, and they have access to life, health and educational opportunities.
· Volunteer as a mentor, participate in a specialised volunteer role like IT or administration, or take time to help with the logistics when people donate clothes, books or toys.
· Donate clothes, toys, money and books.
All three ways are equally as effective in supporting the work of The Smith Family.
But why donate clothes?
· Help those struggling financially. When you donate clothes, you help provide affordable and good quality clothing to disadvantaged families.
· Generates funds. The Smith Family collects, sorts and sells good quality recycled and new clothing, footwear, accessories and manchester to generate profit for their many initiatives. Donate clothes so The Smith Family retail stores can continue funding and covering the cost of helping those in need.
· Environmentally friendly. Instead of throwing away clothes which end up in landfill, donate clothes and do things the environmentally-friendly way. Recycled clothing is the sustainable and affordable choice, but because 25% of donated goods end up in landfill, make sure when you donate clothes that are in good condition.
· Support sustainable innovation. Donate clothes and other textiles to The Smith's Family nonwoven manufacturing arm. Using both recycled and virgin fibre, The Smith Family produces key products like carpet and synthetic sporting surface underlays, thermal and acoustic insulation, water retention felts and much more. Donate clothes and support sustainable practices.
