Washing machines have changed the world. Before, all the clothes were washed by hands on rocks. Washing clothes was really a tough task for human beings, but inventors have made life so easy and smart by inventing 'washing machines' and 'semi auto washing machines'.
An electronic machine which is designed to wash specially clothes, towels, sheets etc. and uses the water for cleaning the clothes is known as a 'washing machine'. 'Washing machines' are electronic machines, so they can't work without electricity. They work through mechanical energy, thermal energy and chemical energy. Having a 'washing machine' is a very common thing for the modern world. Generally, every household has a 'washing machine'.
But earlier it was not so, few years back, when washers and housewives used to wash clothes with their hands. A lot of physical energy and efficiency was needed to get rid of the dirt. Before the invention of washing machines, clothes were washed in streams and pounded on rocks. The first workable model was designed by James king who was an American. But in the recent decade, 'washing machines' have reduced the physical energy involved in the process of rubbing and washing clothes. Now they have replaced the oldest way of washing clothes in laundries and homes. Basically, a 'washing machine' needs detergent powder and water to clean the clothes and it works on the basis of spinning system in which the machine has a drum to clean the clothes with detergent powder and water.
Nowadays, every third person uses 'semi auto washing machines'. These machines were invented in between 1930s and 1940s. The process that is followed for washing clothes is quite a sophisticated one. These machines wash and rinse the clothes, however, the user of a semi automatic washing machine is required to manually transfer the clothes to another tub for drying. In these machines, there is an attached pipe with the water tap.
Most of the machines are designed while keeping in view the requirements of the common public and also the requirements of the launderettes. As functioning properly is much more important than style and design of the model that is why 'commercial auto washing machine' are designed for the public launderettes.
A 'semi auto washing machine' has two main category:
1.Top loading,
2.Front loading
The top loading 'semi auto washing machines' are most popular in the United States, Canada and Australia. While most of the people who reside in countries of Europe use front loading one. If one is interested to get a semi auto one, then he can either visit its respective showrooms or buy 'washing machine' online.
A 'semi auto washing machine' contains two baskets or tubs: one is for washing clothes and other one for spin drying. Capacity of the machine is measured in kilograms. Normally, a five kg machine washes around 20 same sized clothes.
The market of washing machines in India is not small. Some of the top manufacturers of washing machines have launched their products include big names like IFB, National, LG, Onida, Electroflux, Samsung, Sanyo, Godrej, Kenstar, Toshiba, Videocon, Whirlpool, Haier, Hitachi, Siemens, Singer etc. The Videocon has launched 3 kg top loading 'latest semi automatic machine' low priced model.
