America was founded on the backs of brave pioneers who dared to venture out into the unknown believing that they can sustain life when they reached their destination. They left their homeland in England to settle upon un-explored territory. Knowing that they will never be able to make a return journey back to their homeland, they gathered meager belongings and ventured out on the big, blue ocean looking for life on the other side.
Aside from natural sun light, colonial candle lanterns is their only source of lighting. These lanterns are made from cooper with a handle attached. The handle is very useful for carrying a light source from one location to another. It also provides the pioneers with a means of hanging the lanterns up so that light will illuminate the entire environment.
When one ponders on the colonial period of American history, three attributes come to mind: strength, stability, and substance.
Strength:
Colonial candle lanterns represent the strength of the pioneers who are responsible for the very existence of the New World. Imagine if you will the physical strength it takes to navigate a small ship to unknown territory and cultivate that territory when you arrive so that life can be sustained upon it. These lanterns are responsible for lighting the way for these brave souls.
Stability:
In order for something to possess stability it must be stable, firm in position, and continuance without change. Colonial candle lanterns have all of these attributes. Without a stable and firm source of lighting, pioneers will face hazards that will hinder the success of their voyage. One must be able to see where he is going in order to safely arrive at his destination. Colonial candle lanterns are also continuance without change. It is very easy to identify with this piece of American history. They boast a very simplistic style with clean lines reminiscent of the early history of America.
Substance:
Colonial candle lanterns have a substantial, solid character that exemplifies outstanding quality. These are the same attributes that early pioneers possessed. Americans have enjoyed modern amenities for centuries and if given the opportunity to live as they did back during the pioneering days, not many would volunteer to do so.
Colonial candle lanterns are a very important part of American history. By Adding this style of lighting at your next social gathering, you are adding an element that has survived pioneering, industrialization, as well as capitalism. In spite of all the change this country has endured, colonial candle lanterns are still lighting the way.
It is not everyday we have the opportunity to incorporate a piece of American history in our everyday lives. Oftentimes, the only interaction we have with our history is limited to what "grandma" told us or what one finds when visiting a museum. Owning a collection of colonial candle lanterns will not only provide you with a wonderful conversational item to discuss amongst family and friends, but the historic nature of these lanterns also provide one with a feeling of pride in his American past, present, and undoubtly the future.
Embrace the pioneer spirit and pass on the history of colonial candle lanterns. Delight and amuse your guests by adding a piece of the past to your environment.
