Fethiye is a historic and modern town located in southwest Turkey that's attainable by air, by car, and by boat.

Historically speaking, Fethiye dates back to around the fifth century BC. The original name of Fethiye is actually Telmessos and it's said that the city was founded by the Anatolian Civilization. Back during the ancient days, the people of Fethiye were best known for being adept in all matters related to the sea and the city was a hub for prophecy. The city has been through numerous invasions but the citizens were never forced to leave as they were occupied by the Lycians, the Romans, the Ottoman and the Greeks.

At the Fethiye Archeology Museum there are artifacts to be seen that date as far back as the Lycian rulers of old. Around the city, there are many historic sights to tour which include the tomb of Amyntas and the second theater built by the Romans.

Favorite activities among the tourist and locals alike are horse back riding, hiking, exploring the lagoons, white water rafting, and swimming in the sparkling, clear waters of the Turkish Coast.
