HTC dream and Acer X960 are both exciting looking touchscreen handsets which are packed by nearly all the latest features/specifications. And, on comparing the twos, we don't find that much of difference except Dream being an Androind handset in comparison to Acer X960 which is a smart phone featuring Microsoft Windows 6.1 OS. Apart from this, Dream also has built in full QWERTY keyboard which is not available in X960. So, in totality, we find HTC dream winning this race with small margins.

Well, if we compare Acer X960 and HTC Dream then we don't find much difference in both the handsets as both are from the category of high end touchscreen handsets with X960 is a smart phone featuring Microsoft Windows mobile 6.1 OS and HTC Dream which is a cutting edge touchscreen handset powered by Android OS.

To start with, HTC Dream is a 3G handset featuring 3.2 inches of TFT capacitive touchscreen with built in full QWERTY keyboard for easy texting compared to Acer X960 which features a bit smaller 2.8 inch TFT resistive screen with NO built in full QWERTY keyboard.

HTC dream which is an Android handset offers some the unique features or specifications to users. Being an Android handset, a bunch of Google applications can be accessed with this mobile phone including Gmail, Google calender, Google Maps, Google Talk and YouTube. Apart from this, this android newbie offers a host of features for displaying information to users with much ease. These include multi color LED light, short & non-interfering pop-up messages and a notification bar at the top side of the screen.

HTC dream comes pre-installed with Android Market application, enabling users to download new software applications, developed by any third-party along with the option of viewing rating and comments, available publicly. The handset has 1150 mAh Li-ion battery which delivers standby time of up to 130 hours.

Coming on to X960, the handset  is basically one of the five phones in Acer Tempo Smartphone Series. User can navigate on its touchscreen with the help of stylus and a five-way navigation button. And, as the handset is compatible with video call, there is given a front-facing VGA camera. The handset is set to deliver talk time of up to 6 hours coupled with whopping standby time of up to 275 hours.

Although, all the latest messaging options have been included in both the handsets including MMS, Email and instant messaging. However, X960 offers users messaging in threaded view.  Apart from this, as X960 is a full fledged smart phone, with this handsets user can enjoy numbers of features including document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF), Outlook Mobile email client, MSN messenger, Windows Live and Windows Media Player 10. Besides this, the handset offers GPS service (location based) via embedded SiRF Star III chipset.

Latest connectivity features like microSD card slot, Wi-Fi, web browser, GPRS, miniUSB port, GPS, Bluetooth etc. are available in both the handsets. And, even if we compare built in cameras, then again there is not that much of difference in the twos as both feature 3.15 MP of built in camera with LED flash which offers 2048x1536 pixels of resolution. 192 MB RAM of Dream is quite better in comparison 128 MB of X960.

In conclusion, we find both the handset giving tough competition to each other with HTC dream edging  ahead to X960. And, the credit of which largely goes to Dream's Android characteristics.
