Diwali season is round the corner again and home cleaning sprees have begun in most of the homes. Quick 'fix-it' renovation, dusting drives and experimental home settings are new engagements in everyone's life. So here are some tips for Diwali Home Decor, that you might find useful and interesting.
Rangoli

Diyas
Diwali, is the festival of light and one can be very creative in their use. The traditional illumination for this occasion is the diyas. The variety to choose from is wide; you have diyas in multiple sizes, colors and designs. Though choice of diyas is not much of a task, but their placement is definitely to be taken care of. Place them at the windowsill, doorstep, staircase and lobby. Make sure there is balance between the floor area and the number of diyas you arrange there. You can also use floating tea-lights amidst rose petals as centerpieces.
For a more dramatic effect, you can create rows of diyas marking the entry way to your house or display them creatively in geometric patterns. Surround them with petals for an added touch. See the images below for inspiration and ideas.
Candles
If you are already using diyas to light up your doors and windows, its better not to overcrowd a place with lots of diyas and candles. Make use of aroma candles and exquisite candle holders and choose from a variety of contemporary deigns. You can have an assortment of diyas and candles, but be careful to not to use starkingly different looks( a mix of traditional and modern, that is), or overcrowd the place.
