Lighting is the life of our day to day life. We cannot think of a single day without having adequate light. In times of crises wherein there is no lighting available, we highly depend on emergency lighting for our safety and protection. We often underestimate the advantages of emergency lighting but in case of any crises nothing better than emergency lighting can help us get out of the situation. In today’s day and age emergency lighting is extremely important, be it in public places or private residence. Every family is taking the necessary precautions by investing money in buying the right emergency lighting that can protect their family and property too.
Buying emergency lights only is not enough. You need to make sure that they are also maintained at regular intervals. Usually, emergency lighting runs on rechargeable batteries, hence you need to check whether the batteries are in working condition or not at regular intervals. Modern emergency lighting automatically checks the working condition of the batteries but if your premises or residential building is quite big so then these lighting system shall be manually tested by professionals. Batteries can be checked at least once in fifteen days or once a month or once in six months or annually. But the earlier you check it, the better it would be for safety of you and your family. For maintaining batteries of emergency lighting in big premises you can maintain a record book or a log book to keep a track of the maintenance carried out.
Another most important aspect of emergency lighting is its placement. Many families buy emergency lighting in case of power failures or during crises but very often fail to store in a place that is accessible to all the family members. Always place the emergency lighting in a place where it is easily accessible to all, even to the nannies, the housekeeper or even your seven year old kid. There is no point having an emergency light stored in your closet or loft or in a place you cannot recall during power cuts.
You would be amazed at the number of varieties available in emergency lighting in the market today. You can easily find one as per your need, be it home or office. The modern emergency lightings are extremely easy to operate and maintain and you can also carry one for picnics, trekking or camping. Always remember, safety comes first, and it’s always better to be prepared than sorry. Crises don’t knock on your door to warn you, they just come and you need to be prepared.
