A few years back, air conditioners were regarded as high end products which only rich could afford and enjoy. But with declining prices and fast developing technology, increasing efficiency, ordinary people can also enjoys these appliances. Air conditioner is an electronic appliance which cools the room by reducing humidity. An AC works in the same way as a refrigerator works. To keep the area around cool, it pulls the heat from surroundings using its refrigeration cycle.
Split AC is perfect solution if you want to cool closed areas. For installing split AC, there is no need of window or opening. Split AC has two separate units; one is indoor unit and other is outdoor unit. That is why it is called split AC. The indoor unit of the split air conditioner carries compressor and outdoor unit contains the condenser. Both of these units are connected refrigerant pipes. Split air conditioners are better than window AC because they do not need any slot to be created. Also they can be fit any type of space whether a closed room or a well ventilated room, stores, offices. These air conditioners produce very less or inaudible noise. Rotary compressor in the wall mounted split AC forces the cold air into the room.
The cooling capacity of the split air conditioner is determined by its tonnage. You can get a split AC in various capacities ranging from 0.5 ton to 1 ton to 1.5 ton and 2.0 ton. It depends upon the area of the room which you want to cool. In any case, you choose an AC with lower tonnage to cool larger area to save the initial cost; you will lose in long run in terms of power consumption.
Size of the area you want to cool is the major factor which affects the capacity of the split AC, you are choosing. For a room of about 35 sq. ft. or less, you will need 0.75 ton AC. For a larger room which might be having area of about 250 sq ft., a 2.0 ton AC will work. To cool a larger hall, you need to calculate your cooling requirement by measuring the overall area.
Tubing is essential component of Split AC system without which it cannot work properly. Tubing is provided additionally as it depends upon the distance between both units. It works as a connector between the two units.
Almost all the companies which manufacture window AC also produce split AC. You can buy one after comparing features and prices of all the available split AC models in the market.
