First impressions do count the most and when your colleagues or business associates see that you're using Mont Blanc fountain pen when that stop by your desk or office, you can rest assure that they will notice. Some will will want to ask you about it. Where you got it what model, how much you paid, etc. Others will just look on in silent envy and quietly dream of the day when they could be as fortunate as you.
The true irony is that for some reason most people assume that they have to plunk down at least $1000 to finally own a Mont Blanc pen. The fact is however, that there is a huge range of Mont Blanc fountain pens that can be had for about one half to third that amount. Still another thing to consider is that their rollerball pens produce script that resembles the script of a fountain pen.
Of course this is not to say that there aren't Mont Blanc Pens out there that equal and exceed value of the home you grew up in. The fact is that there are and some of the rarest Mont blanc pens hidden away in the vaults of collectors are so difficult to put a value on, that some might say that they are close to being priceless. However; lets not get off topic and go through some of their fountain pens that you won't need an armored car to deliver payment on.
The Mont blanc Meister stuck 149 is one of their all time most popular selling pens. It's crafted from black precious resin, is trimmed out in 18K gold and features inscribed platinum and gold nib. This is an excellent choice for the person who isn't interested in inlaid jewels on their writing instrument and they can be found online for between $300 - $400 US.
The Mont Blanc Starwalker is another popular seller and it resembles the Meisterstuck, in that it too is crafted from precious resin. However; the Starwalker is different in design with a noticably straighter body. Also although both the Meisterstuck and the Starwalker come in several design variations, this pen is fitted out in polished white platinum.
The Mont blanc Boheme also is crafted from black precious resin but it comes adorned with a blue sapphire. Its shape is also noticeably different. This pen just like the Starwalker does come in several design options but all are trimmed out in polished platinum. Also, generally speaking, this pen will carry a higher price tag then either of the above two listed pens but it will still be well under the thousand dollar mark.
The Mont blanc Etoile fountain pen has a distinctive look that can be picked out from across a room. It starts out wide towards the bottom and tapers up to finish at the top with an unmistakable flat end. It too is crafted from precious resin but that is where the similarity ends with any of the above listed fountain pens.
The entire bottom third of this writing instrument is sculpted out of polished platinum and it has a rhodium plated 18K gold nib with the Mont blanc star shaped hearthole. The look of this pen is black on polished platinum and it will set you back more then the previously listed pens. This one will easily cost you over $2000.
