Nokia N97 v/s Samsung i8000 Omnia2 - Compare the two

Mobile companies today are desperate to flourish the market with high end mobile handsets in order to fulfill the expectation of market. Nokia N97 and Samsung i8000 Omnia2 are two such sets. Here is a brief analysis of both.

Nokia and Samsung, the two giants who are engaged in manufacturing of superior quality mobile phones, have served consumers with great devotion and dedication all around the globe. People of almost every country have rested their trust on both these brands from the time when the usage of mobile phones started.

"N97" from Nokia and "i8000 Omnia2" from Samsung are the two handsets which must be compared to each other.

Nokia N97 is a Symbian operating system based phone which makes it convenient and user friendly. Where as Samsung i8000 Omnia2 works on MS Windows mobile 6.1 professional OS, which is upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5. Both these phones offer instant messaging facility to the users enabling them to keep in touch with their near and dear ones through Emails, SMS and MMS. These phones provide GPS(Global Positioning System) facility to the user, to see the whole geographical structure of the area on their palms.

Standby Battery backup of N97 is around 432hours and it allows a good talk time of 9hours 30 mins. On the other hand, Omnia2 permits its user to talk a slight half hour more with a talk time of 10hrs. But its standby time of 430hrs lacks a good 2 hours from N97's. Whereas, Omnia2 is flooded with miscellaneous features such as photo/video editor, DivX/Xvid/MP4/WMV Player, Media Gate 3D, Pocket Office, Mobile Tracker etc. N97, on the contrary has digital compass, Flash Lite, Document viewer, TV-out, MP3/WMA/WAV/Real Video/MP4 Player facilities to delight user.

To make your clicked moments unforgettable Nokia N97 and Omnia2 both have Geo-tagging facility on their brilliant 5mega pixel cameras accompanied by features such as video at 30 frames per second, Carl Zeiss optical lens, auto focus, LED flash etc. Whereas, if both of them are identical on the front of sound feature with stereo speakers having 3.5mm jack. Omnia2 possesses a memory of 16GB along with a slot Micro SD card, while, N97 has an edge over it with a memory of 32GB.

Both N97 and Omnia2 are quite light in weight with 150gms and 129gms respectively. And finally lets compare their appearance and display. So Samsung i8000 Omnia2 is designed with a 3.7inches Amoled resistive Touch screen, displaying approximately 65000colours. This screen is supported by features of Hand writing recognition and accelerometer sensor. Whereas, Nokia N97's fine display gives a delight to the user with a 3.5 inches broad sliding tilt TFT LCD screen having 16.7 million colours in it It also has same features of handwriting recognition and accelerometer sensor.

Both these phones are the healthy rivals of each other and are quite successful in adding a fine touch and elegance to owner's persona.
