Entertainment has always persistent with man’s demand never to get bored on a long flight. As one of my personal experiences, going on board a plane without proper entertainment gear can be excruciatingly difficult, and you can’t just sleep all through the flight, not to mention that or the entertainment provided on board doesn’t help much either. So what do you do to survive in this kind of situation? Well, most people opt for iPhones and other media in which they can watch movies while on board, but there’s nothing more relaxing and comfortable than being able to use video glasses to "monopolize" your viewing experience.
Using innovative LCD video eyewear might be one thing, but with the myriad of different models offering different kinds of services out there in the market, how in the world can you find the right model that suits your exact preference? Well, listen carefully, here are some of the tips that you can use in order for you to find the best video eyewear for your next plane trip.
Resolution is good, but screen stability is better
Many people out there always preach about the supposed absolute law that higher pixel resolutions are always better than lower ones, which is not exactly untrue. But some people are ignoring the fact that compatibility of the screen to the pixel resolution is a far more important factor. What I mean with compatibility is the way your eye perceives the screen. For example, OLED (organic light emitting diodes) screens might get better illumination when it comes to video quality than your standard LCD (liquid crystal display) screens, but if the composition of the screen is not that all good, presentation would still be, more or less inferior that what you are supposed to be viewing.
Choose something that you can get accustomed to easily
Even if you have to look like Star Trek’s Geordi LaForge (I know, I know, it might be a golden privilege to some, but for most others well…), you have to give proper importance to how the video eyewear fits to the contours of your face. If you’re not yet used to wearing eyeglasses for long periods of time, then you may "practice" first by trying to use the video eyewear for relatively short period of time, followed by a period of rest before trying to use it again. What important is to find a model that you think you can get used to quite easily without stressing your eyes or having to readjust the video glasses ever so often.
Find something that can last a long time
Finally, find a good model that can last until the whole trip is over, regardless of the time that it took you to get to your destination. Common sense, because something that won’t last long probably can’t keep you entertained enough for the whole trip. Somewhere around 4-6 hours of battery life would probably be good enough for local flights, but if you can keep something that lasts for about 8 hours, the better. Alternatively, you can choose video eyewear that you can provide extra batteries with. I highly recommend the use of Lithium ion batteries, as they come at a hefty double the rate of conventional batteries on a full charge.
As you can see, the potential best video eyewear for long, boring plane flights doesn’t have to be the one with the highest specifications, nor would it need to be the most expensive. Find the right combinations of these qualities packed with a nice price tag, you’re sure not to be bored with your next plane trip ever again.
