Today, majority of men consider wallet as their portable mini safe that enables them to carry their most valuable information, in addition to cash. Foremost among the things that should be carried in your wallet is a list of emergency contact numbers that include phone numbers of your spouse, children, close friends and relatives, as this would be helpful for volunteers who may assist you in case if some serious issues happen to you in the form of accidents. Another important thing that would be advisable to carry in your wallet is health insurance card, as this helps to cut down the medical bills in case if you need to be hospitalized for further check ups. It would be even better if you maintain a piece of paper containing in it information like medicines that you are allergic to and other important details pertaining to your health like BP and cholesterol levels.

When comes to cash, it is recommended to carry few amount of money in your wallet. This would help you to overcome situations like pickpocketing. Likewise, if you use credit cards, find some place in your wallet to safely store your credit card. However, it is recommended not to carry more than one credit card or debit card in your wallet. In case, if you have many credit cards and debit cards, then place them in such a way that they do not clutter your wallet. In case you need to take check book, it would better to carry a blank check leaf rather than carrying the whole check book.

Further, if you own and use car, then keep your car’s registration and insurance proof in your wallet rather than keeping it in your car’s glove box. ATM card, club membership card, and medicines for headache and stomach problems are the other items that could be carried in a wallet. Things to carry in a wallet also depend on your profession or lifestyle. For instance, if you are a marketing or sales executive, you need to carry a lot of business cards of your clients. Hence, it would be better if you leave some place in your wallet to store your work-related information.

Apart from these, there are certain documents or information that are not recommended to carry in your wallet such as social security card, passport, checkbook, glasses, USB drive, check book, and keys.
