Tiles are particularly used to make the place look clean, bright, beautiful, royal and elegant. Normally, it's the white tile which people prefer, but with advancing technology, options have expanded to experiment with a lot of colourful tiles. And in this category, porcelain and ceramic tiles have witnessed a huge demand owing to their extraordinary features. Porcelain tiles are composed of materials clay and quartz. They are made with the heating of the most purified form of clay in high temperature, and come out with the most refined frame and dense structure.
This is an extremely important fact, since being denser, which means that porcelain tiles absorb far less moisture, making it both durable and stain resistant. They are most ideal for floor applications at outdoor living space, as they can bear the harshest weather conditions. Tiles made of porcelain are practically a must for outdoor patios in cold weather climates, because unlike normal ceramic tiles, they are far less likely to crack. Besides providing great looks, they have this unique absorption rate and density which means, moisture and dirt have a hard time getting through the surface. Hence they look cleaner, spic and span for a longer period of time.
While you use any tile at your place, the intention is to make people feel welcome and they like it instantly. Be it the living area, your bedroom or the kitchen. Here is where the porcelain tiles score. They are sleek, clean and beautiful, and the difference in appearance is noticeable. On the other side, they don't just look cleaner due to their density and hardness, porcelain materials (tiles) are more impervious to dirt, and are much easier to clean.
Talking about maintenance, you can damp mop the porcelain tile after sweeping the dirt away (or use a sponge if your tile is on the wall). You can use a commercial tile cleaner, but a simple solution of one cup white distilled vinegar in one gallon of hot water and a teaspoon of dish soap works can make it absolutely sparkling. Spots may require a little more scrubbing, especially on the grout lines. For these lines, the best you can do is, seal them! Grout sealant can be purchased in a spray can which makes it easy to apply. It will protect your grout from water damage, plus from stain getting collected at the lines. Dirt can make these beautiful tiles look really tacky.
As far as installing porcelain tiles goes, you can hire a professional, as they are sophisticated and they need to be handled with care. These tiles are expensive, so you wouldn't want any disaster while laying them. Considered one of the strongest flooring options today, porcelain looks very decorative and comes in variety of glazes and finishes, ranging from matte to high gloss looks. Some even has a translucent look reminiscent of glass or gem. It looks truly precious.
Your home is your castle; you would always want it look as beautiful as ever. With high-quality flooring solution with a high hardness rating, porcelain tiles may be a great investment for you. The beauty and durability of these tiles is sure to bring happiness and make you the proud owners of the place which truly deserves to be called, sweet home!
