This is perhaps the most-talked about question going around the various industries recently. Especially after the Vista bad performance when it was first launched. Answering this question seems hard because it can be answered by looking at different technical and business views. The hottest thing about Windows 7 is that it runs well even on outdated hardware. It is one of the good points to consider from a technical point of view. You might be amazed on how well it runs on old computer models and even on a netbooks which can even outperform some of the other Operating Systems (OS). So considering the performance of the Windows 7, it can definitely give you enough reason to upgrade to it.
The windows 7 also have some features which make upgrading on it a good decision. The BitLocker and AppLocker are only two of the features of this OS that you may want to check out. The BitLocker is good for laptop users while the AppLocker is going to be a big help for those who want better control over what can and cannot run on each of their system.
Even the launch of Windows 7 was nicely timed. It was launched when the economy is slowly coming out of the economic recession and the industries are slowly getting back on track. Businesses and organizations are now again allotting money for their IT budgets as well as with their hardware upgrade. With that, many businesses will start considering again to upgrading their hardware. It is also a logical move for businesses to buy new machines with Windows 7 already since there are retailer shops that offer great deals not only for computer parts but also on OS licenses. Some of the businesses are now considering getting the new OS for their computers because their hardware upgrade has now been long overdue. If your company is still not shifting to this new operating system then all you need to do is to wait because sooner or later your company will realize what they are missing something when they do not shifted to Windows 7.
If you are currently using Windows XP or Vista and you don’t have any plan to upgrade your hardware anytime soon, then this may not be the proper time to shift to the new Windows 7. If you are a Win XP user, then you need to format your computer because you can not directly upgrade to Windows 7. On the other hand, Vista users will have easier time upgrading to windows 7. Just keep in mind that you still need to check compatibility of your application. Another important thing to check is if all your existing drivers will work with the new OS. This kind of test usually takes a lot longer time because you need to talk with the vendors on whether your computer or laptop is ready for Windows 7. Do not worry because software companies usually offer patch for their applications. Our overall rating for windows 7 is 8 out of 10 because it offers more positives than negatives. Besides if you happen to install Windows 7 and don’t like it, then you can easily revert back to your previous OS just like nothing had happened.
