Mobile manufacturers today are eager to stuff the market with smartphones to come up to the expectations of gadget freaks. Nokia 5800 Music Xpress and Samsung i8000 Omnia2 are two such sets. We present a brief analysis of both of them.

Samsung and Nokia, the two Tusks who are engaged in manufacturing of high end mobile phones, have served consumers with great devotion and dedication all around the globe. Both the brands have assimilated recent technical upgradations and emerging inventions of the arena, in their manufacturing procedures. But both of them despite being perfect in their domain, more or less give tough competition to each other. They are manufacturing more efficient high end mobile phones daily, stuffed with amazing features and opening a wide range of gadgets in front of consumers. 'Nokia 5800 Xpress' from Nokia and 'i8000 Omnia2' from Samsung are the two handsets which must be compared to each other. Samsung i8000 Omnia2 works on MS Windows mobile 6.1 professional OS, which is upgradeable to Windows Mobile 6.5. Whereas, 5800 Xpress Music runs on Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5. Talking about their CPUs, Omnia2 has a Samsung S3C6410 800MHz processor with dedicated graphics accelerator. Where as, 5800 has a ARM 11 434 MHz processor.If compared connectivity wise, Omnia2 supports Class 12 GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, HSUPA, WLAN Wi-Fi, Bluetooth formats enabling the user to access speedily. While the latter Nokia gadget is compatible with Class 32 GPRS, EDGE, 3G HSDPA, WLAN Wi-Fi and BlueTooth. Well both of them have provisions of physical connectivity via USB port. Nokia 5800 Xpress music possesses miscellaneous features like MP4/H.263/H.264/WMV player and MP3/WAV/еAAC+/WMA player, Document viewer (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Photo editor and Flash Lite 3.0. While, Omnia2 is flooded with miscellaneous features such as photo/video editor, DivX/Xvid/MP4/WMV Player, Media Gate 3D, Pocket Office, Mobile Tracker, Noise cancellation with dedicated microphone, Business card scanner, TV-out,Find Music service etc.Both these gagdets offer instant messaging facility to the users enabling them to keep in touch with their near and dear ones through Emails, SMS(threaded view) and MMS. These phones provide GPS(Global Positioning System) facility to the user, to see the whole geographical structure of the area on their palms.Omnia2 permits its user to talk more with a talk time of 12hrs. But its standby time of 430hrs. On the other hand, 5800 Xpress Music has a standby time of 406hrs and the talk time up to 8hrs 45mins. Talking about the memory feature of both the phones, Omnia2 possesses a memory of 16GB along with a slot Micro SD card, expandable up to 32GB. Whereas, Nokia 5800 has an internal memory of 81MB that can be extended up to 16GB through a micro SD card.

With a weight of 123gms and Dimensions of 118 x 59.6 x 12.3 mm Samsung i8000 Omnia2 is designed with a 3.7inches Amoled resistive Touch screen, displaying approximately 65000colours. This screen is supported by features of Hand writing recognition, Proximity sensor for screen auto turn-off ambient light sensor and accelerometer sensor. Whereas, considering Nokia 5800 carries a weight of 109 grams with dimensions of 111 x 51.7 x 15.5 mm. The phone has 3.2 inches TFT resistive touchscreen with a resolution of 360x640 pixels. Proximity sensor for auto turn-off, Accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate and Handwriting recognition are some additional features of display.Omnia2 has Geo-tagging facility on its brilliant 5mega pixel cameras accompanied by features such as video at 30 frames per second, Carl Zeiss optical lens, auto focus, LED flash, face and smile detection, mobile blogging etc. Whereas, Nokia 5800 has a 3.15 mega pixel camera with a resolution of 2048x1536 pixels. Auto focus, LED Flash and Carl Zeiss lens are there to enhance the abilities of the camera feature. User can also make Videos from the camera at a rate of 30 frames per second. Nokia 5800 Xpress Music bears excellent sound feature with stereo speakers having 3.5mm jack. Whereas, Omnia2 also possess the same sound feature along with DNSe (Digital Natural Sound Engine).

Thus, on analysing both these astute gadgets we can say that both of them are well worse with excellent features and are accurately designed to serve maximum communication requirements of the user.
