Gas combination boilers are very popular for they are very efficient. These boilers are the type of contemporary condensing heating boilers. These boilers help reduce the energy bills and also help shrink the space. When your old boiler starts giving frequent problems and expanding your energy bills, it is better to replace it with a new one. A gas combination boiler is wise solution here.
Installing or replacing a boiler is an expensive task so you need to choose a right model to suit all the requirements of your home. Also you need to make sure that the boiler is of right price and meets your requirements as well. Let us discuss few important criterions which are necessary to be satisfied while choosing the boiler.
Before you go for a combi boiler, consult the engineers whether it can be fitted in your home or not. There is rating of A or B given to all the boilers according to their efficiency. A-rated boilers are often expensive for obvious reasons. In the long run, they save the hot water and energy bills. Also make sure that your new boiler is easy to be installed, without disturbing the present set up of the house. If you choose to install this boiler in different location than the existing one, you can face problems with regards to the flue. These boilers can be easily maintained and serviced. It creates less hassle during the annual check-up.
The new boiler should be easily operated. It should have simple controls and easy to control timers. But sometimes, it takes time to learn about the boiler. Another important factor while choosing the boiler is the requirement of your house. Choose the boiler with correct power output for the size of your home. For instance, if you install a high powered boiler in a one bedroom flat, you will have unnecessary wastage of energy and unwanted increase in energy bills. At the same time, if you install a low powered boiler in a bigger house with multiple bathrooms, there will always be a shortage or low flow of water.
Though most of the new boilers emit low amount of CO2 and NOX, look for those which emit the lowest amount. This is also an important consideration along with energy rating. Combination boiler is great for saving space in your house. With these boilers, you need not have a separate hot water tank in the loft or airing cupboard.
A trained heating installer is the best person who can survey your house, recommend the best device and install the boiler in an efficient way, not disturbing the existing flue fitting much.
