They will work longer than sixty thousand hours of nonstop watching. Might not seem like "extremely long" to you but look at it this way.

That means that you can watch TV every single day for 8 hours daily for twenty year! And let's say for arguments sake that you do sit in front of the TV for this long then all you have to do is take the LCD TV in and replace the back light and it is good as new.
