You can’t deny the fact that the way you dress certainly affects other people’s first impression of you. It is difficult to free yourself from the stereotyping eyes of the public. Once they see you wearing a certain kind of clothing, it sticks to them and you’ll be remembered as the lady wearing that little black dress or that Plain Jane in jeans.

If that’s the case, you might as well learn how to control other people’s first impressions of you by dressing based on your personality, or at least, based on how you perceive yourself.

If you are more on the athletic side, something comfortable and casual is perfect for you. It does not mean though that you have to settle for something dull and safe. You can still experiment with a plain dress or denim skirt, if that’s what you are comfortable with. One thing you can do is layer your clothes by wearing vests or any blazer that goes well with your shirt. You don’t really need to stick with denims. You can also experiment on corduroys, cottons and linens. When it comes to color, athletic women usually like bold colors such as orange and red. Freewheeling, artsy women use their clothes as if they are canvasses. They usually like to express themselves with the way they dress. It really shows because artsy women are often seen wearing funky dresses that you have never seen before. It is quite rare for them to try on the latest trends but whenever they do, they make it a point to make the trend their own by adding a hat or an accessory that will differentiate them from the rest of the herd.

The artsy woman is quite the opposite of the classy woman in a sense that the latter would rather stick to the basics. Don’t get us wrong though, they are far from being the Plain Jane. They just know how to dress up in a manner that their clothes don’t get to overpower themselves. They wear simple yet elegant fabrics coupled with a nice piece of jewelry. It can make people wonder how they are able to catch attention with the least possible effort.
