Janie and jack is an authorized and recognized retailer of the Gymboree Corporation which manufactures and retails unique, high quality apparel and accessories for newborns and kids until eight years old. The corporation is currently based in San Francisco, California and operates with more than 600 stores in the United States and Canada as an online business.
Gymborgee is originally a commercial children workout center established by Joan Barnes in 1976. Barnes taught modern dance to kids and other recreation program for the Jewish Community Center in San Rafael, California. She was working as the activity administrator when she decided to offer exercise classes for babies with their parents. The idea was basically from her desire to contribute and teach physical fitness playtime with her own daughter which later became an instant hit as many parents registered and brought their babies and toddlers to Barnes's exercise sessions. In 1976, Joan realized the commercial potential of the physical fitness playtime and decided to open her first commercial children's workout center. And by 1984, 125 Gymboree franchises were operating in 20 states and were bringing in more than $1 million in revenue annually.
Today, the Gymboree corporation continue to grow as an excellent provider of various products and recreation activities for kids and is incorporated under the Gym-Mark, Inc. It currently operates 580 Gymboree Retail, 80 Gymboree Outlet, 100 Janie & Jack, and 20 Crazy 8 stores selling children's apparel in the United States. It franchises nearly 300 Gymboree Play & Music centers around the globe. Gymboree operated a chain of 17 women's clothing stores called Janeville until all locations closed by January 2007.
Janie and Jack kids clothes are extremely durable and it could last several years if taken care of properly.
