HTC ActiveSync can be pre-installed on Windows phones. You should just install it on your PC also in making it work. Input all of your credentials/Sync and see what the results are. Usually when such things happen there's a problem while using the partnership in MDM. Several images of an HTC Magic running Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync can be found floating throughout the internet lately, and we've finally gotten a firm answer on how an Android phone is syncing with Microsoft. HTC generally customizes Windows Mobile on every one of its devices, so it's no real surprise to discover them doing some customization on Android.
The HTC Droid Enis is meant for professionals who need a chance to synchronize with an enterprise messaging system over the air, including contacts, calender, etc. The scarcity of native Exchange ActiveSync support has been a major detractor for the T-Mobile G1's use in the corporate environment. True, recent third-party apps like DataViz Documents to go have added this functionality, but native support would be huge.
Toggle was designed so the ActiveSync process couldn't only be removed from memory therefore freeing up memory but additionally from the System Tray therefore freeing up clutter. We believe allowing ActiveSync Toggle running from the System Tray would only defeat its purpose. If you use a 4-digit pass code, the service explorer won't show ActiveSync. As soon as you checked the box for ActiveSync and make sure the PC's ActiveSync is checked to "Allow connection to one of the following Com4" or the BT Com port setup on your PC, you should be in a position to use "Connect via Bluetooth" to the phone's ActiveSync menu to sync. I've done a great deal of googling and it looks like there are some issues with the Toshiba stack and ActiveSync. I've found a tutorial which looks promising.
I've just updated ActiveSync on my desktop PC from v4.2 to v4.5 everything seems fine except HTC QuickGPS doesn't automatically download updates when I connect my O2 XDA Orbit. It use to on v4.2 Verizon's tech support staff not even the internal support folks the local Verizon Store manager called for me couldn't say whether or not which Exchange ActiveSync policies were supported, and neither could a Verizon corporate spokeswoman. Verizon's support staff also didn't understand what the on-device encryption even was, the rep I spoke to thought it had been just like SSL encryption and couldn't find any documentation about it, again, Google's, Verizon's, Motorola's, and HTC's Websites were silent about the Droids on-device encryption capabilities. After a restore, the device informs me that it needs ActiveSync 4.5 on the desktop. That version is on my desktop, however the device don't connect because the device doesn't believe it.
What I finally did was I deleted any existing ActiveSync profiles on my phone. I then started the sync with a cable. Also trying to get the Mac to work at the same time so I could sync from iPhoto and iTunes.
