Amazon's Kindle Reader currently comes in two models, the Kindle 2 and the Kindle DX. Both have their own differences, but each one is a viable choice. The biggest differences of the Kindle Reader come in size and memory, as well as price. The Kindle DX, while more expensive, is designed to cover the most diverse and serious of readers, while the Kindle 2 can perform just as well, with slightly less memory.
The original first generation Kindle Reader has been vastly improved upon with the current generation. The advances in technology have given great hope to future versions as well, as these devices are almost guaranteed to improve in quality with every upcoming generation of Kindle Reader.
