Bathroom is the most used room after kitchen in a house. Do not take bathroom as just a place for personal hygiene. If you design your bathroom carefully, you can convert it into a personal spa where you can relax and rejuvenate after a tiring day at work. You just need some creativity and imagination to work for you. You can always remodel your old bathroom.
To remodel your old bathroom, there are two important factors to be considered. First is the size of your bathroom and the amount of money you want to spend on remodelling. The houses, which were built about twenty years ago, had smaller bathrooms compared to the newer houses. You have to accommodate for everything in those small bathrooms. But one thing which goes in the favour of the small bathrooms is whatever changes you incorporate create larger visual impact.
The amount of money to be spent on the bathroom depends upon the updating you want to bring, quality of accessories and size of your bathroom. Size of the bathroom is very important as amount of tiling and flooring needed to be done affects the budget.
So first thing, is deciding your budget. If you want to spend small amount of money then you will be doing only minor cosmetic changes like accessories, hardware and painting. Smaller may be your budget but these little changes will bring lots of change into the look of your bathroom. If you only change towel racks or the prints of curtains or the hardware of the doors and drawers, you will certainly love that fresh and updated look.
If you have some more to spend, then you can bring in new towels, new shower curtains, rugs, mirrors, additional storage units or other things, upgrade lighting. It will create entirely new look to the bathroom. You can make your bathroom look more luxurious by throwing a beautiful rug or keeping good quality bath towels. Updated light fixtures can bring a touch of elegance in your bathroom.
If your bathroom needs more serious changes like changing of floors or tiles, you will have to spend more. Other things which can be changed in a bathroom are sinks, fixtures, toilets, bathtubs and other furniture. You can bring a new bath tub or resurface the old one. Another method is installing acrylic liners over your old tub. Walls and showers can also be covered with acrylic liner to give them a new look.
There are many different options available in the home improvement market. All you have to do is to check your requirements and tastes. Research and purchase the accessories you need. And you can refurbish your bathroom within your budget, even if it is not very large.
