Water leakage can occur at any time due to a variety of reasons, such as slight rupture in the hose pipe of your dishwasher or any of the main water pipes. It doesn’t take long for the floor to get flooded, thereby messing up everything within a very limited span of time. Standing water causes damage to your furnitures and other assets as well. Therefore, water leakage needs to be detected before it becomes too late for minimizing the losses. It would be wiser on your part to invest money in the home security devices rather than bearing the costs involved in repairing the damages and cleaning up the place.
These devices are very useful in detecting the leakage of water pipes at your home, thereby giving you sufficient time to recover the leakage. This home security equipment consists of a small sized electronic alarm which is fitted against the wall or placed on floor of such areas of the house that are prone to water leakage. You can even place it by the side of your water heater or any other such appliance. As soon as the water from the leaked pipe comes in contact with the device, it sends out a sharp alarm to warn you about the leakage.
Many of these alarms operate on batteries with wattage of 9 volts, thereby detecting water leakage even at times of power cuts. These devices are not only user friendly but are also available at relatively reasonable costs. The alarm keeps on ringing for continuous seventy two hours before its battery dies. No matter how much the level of water rises, the alarm does not get drowned but keeps floating instead. For efficient functioning of the detector, you are required to keep a check on its batteries and change them accordingly.
The home security device is a smart means of preventing the loss or damage to your home as well as other assets due to extensive leakage of water. With the detecting alarm installed at home, you are able to fix the leakage at its primary stage rather than getting to know about it later. These equipments are very useful for rental properties and vacation homes which remain vacant for a greater part of the year. Even if the owner of the vacation house is not present there, the alarm installed within the house will notify the others in the locality who in turn will inform the owner about the leakage. The detector works 24x7 and assures you with a much better service than that of a paid caretaker.
These home security devices possess remote sensing features which enables you to place the sensor and the alarm in two different areas of your house as per your convenience. Suppose the dish washer is located in the kitchen, so you can place the sensor next to it while fix the alarm upstairs where you spend most of your time. This will enable you to hear the alarm as quickly as possible, and take measures accordingly.
Today life is full surprises and unpredictable troubles; therefore it becomes necessary to have a reliable home security system.Through ADT security systems you can have peace of mind.
