Networking helps you stand out to an employer. If you are currently a student, become involved in plenty of events and groups related to your major. -An impressive resume. Making your resume stand out is not as hard as it may seem. Little things such as adding a picture of you or using positive phrases can add luster to an otherwise vanilla resume. An example of a use of positive language is instead of saying you have no experience in a certain area, saying that you are willing and open to learning is obviously more constructive.
You see, people ignore organic search engine optimization quite often because it doesn't bring instant results. We're so used to having everything instantly, microwaved food, movies on demand, info on-line with a couple of mouse clicks, that if anything requires time we tend to bypass it opting to look for instant alternatives. But the fact is, organic search engine optimization if done correctly, will start to bring results within quite a short space of time, a week or two should usually be long enough for you to start to see results
There are many different programs and services that you can use to record and decipher this information, like Stattracker which offers a limited information for free but the one that I have found to be extremely useful is Google's own "Google Analytics" which entails just copying a simple but of code to every page of your site. I don't need to tell you where you can get it from but I strongly suggest using it if you don't already have something in place, and this does go for everyone.

You'll need to drive traffic to your website and that could be done hundreds of ways. Optimally, your blog should always be up to date with fresh content. Of course, this can't always be the case, so it would be advantageous to update your blog as much as you can. If you can manage the content, a few times a week would be enough to keep your information fresh. There are plenty of free resources online that could help you with content. Simply do a search in your favorite engine for "free site content" or "free articles" and you should fine multiple links that could make it even easier for you to keep your blog up to date.
And if you are in a business that works with technology to help businesses then not using technology to its full advantage actually weakens your credibility. Today's business world is driven by the technology of the Internet. If you are not actively playing in this arena, then you may need to revisit your strategic plan.
Building a website that will work for you is not an impossible task. "Quit Your Day Job in 72 hours and retire to your new carribean island just like me!" Do you really believe that line? There are tens if not hundreds of online marketers who are counting on the inexperienced to believe it really is that easy, their sales copy is carefully crafted to entice you to suspend your disbelief just long enough to pull out your wallet.
You already have a relationship with them and they may be more receptive to an email or a phone call introducing them to your new website. Send an email with a brief description and a link to your new website. You can even offer them an incentive like a discount for referring a friend.
