I have always been passionate about photography. The word ‘digital’ did not invade the technology world and I was quite happy with my analog camera. Even in my teenage days when my classmates were busy playing in the ground, I loved to ramble around and my camera went on clicking most of the time. It was pleasant to saunter around and fascinating to encage many a runaway moment into frame.
I grew up with a cherished dream of taking up photography as a profession. But the proverb goes that man purposes and god disposes and I have experienced that trauma. My decision of becoming a photographer was a major setback to my parents and other relatives. They were dead against me and eventually my dream crashed under their coercion. I was admitted to an engineering college and got absorbed in a prestigious company.
Life took a new turn when I entered into a photography competition and won it. My dormant desire set fire at this success once more. I promised to myself, "Come heaven or hell, I am going to stop at nothing." I was determined to bag a degree on photography and searched degree on line programs to adjust to my professional commitments. So I consider myself no less than an eligible person to orate on the facilities of distance learning program.
I was in two minds at the time of joining distance learning mode of study but slowly the doubt passed by only never to come back. I was happy with the course curriculum in distance learning program. By the time digital camera was very much in to lend the photography world a new dimension. There was an elaborate discussion about both analog and digital photography in the course material and it was very much necessary to imbibe that knowledge to be a photographer of excellence.
The most amazing part of the whole distance learning course was a face to face interaction with renowned photographers. Such sessions were helpful for the budding photographers. We were initiated into hands-on training program and that was the most valuable part of the distance learning study for me and other aspirant learners too.
While the session was on go, every day I used to wake up early in the morning and go far to click a dozen of photos. They were very patient to check every piece and also suggested how the moods could be captured more aesthetically. I was really benefitted by registering into distance learning course to color my dream.
For the cynics, I would prefer to say to experience the advantages of distance learning studies instead of taking a bird’s eye view. It is true that such an irregular mode of learning has to go a long way; still it will be a very promising journey for distance learning mode.
Richard Johnson is doing his distance learning from UK. So he has a vast knowledge on degree on line.
