Christina Aguilera’s album Back to Basics feature the hit single Candyman, a song written by the singer in collaboration with Linda Perry. This was the first song created by Christina and Perry in the album Back to Basics. Candyman by Christina Aguilera is one of the popular songs sung by the singer. Born Christina Maria Aguilera she is also known in the music world as Baby Jane and Xtina is also a songwriter. Christina has indeed been blessed with one of the most powerful and melodious voices in the music world.
Aguilera came to the limelight after the success of her debut album Christina Aguilera in the year 1999. This album was both a critical success and a commercial success as well, a rare double for any singer. After her debut album she shortly came out with two more titled My Kind of Christmas and Mi Reflejo, both this albums also sold strongly.
Back to Basics that was released in 2006 was Christina’s third solo album. The album featured elements of soul, blue and jazz music. Back to basics which featured the song Candyman by Christina Aguilera opened to a strong sale and fans lapped up this song and the album quickly. Christina was born in Staten Islands in New York to a US Army Sergeant and a teacher. Her mother was of Irish decent and she used to teach Spanish. Christina lived with her parents till the age of 7 years.
After that when her parents divorced, she lived with her mother. As a child Christina always aspired to be a singer and she was influenced by Aretha Franklin, Whitney Huston and Madonna. She made the most of all these influences that she had early in her life and made a name for herself in the world of music.
The music for the video of her hit single Candyman from the album Back to Basics in January 2007. Christina co directed the video along with director Matthew Rolston. The theme of the video was the wars that were fought in the 1940s. The video for Candyman was shot in an airport in Spain that was taken on rent by Aguilera specifically for the video. In the video Christina is seen dancing and singing with three different hair colors, blond, red and brunette.
Originally Christina did not intend to have Perry as the producer of the album. Subsequently however when the pair hit off very well after the conception of the song Candyman, Christina decided to hand over the entire production of the album to Perry. The song is a huge hit among all her die hard fans worldwide.
