In today’s time, technology is an integral part of everything. Businesses, companies, schools, homes, offices and health care institutions all incorporate technology heavily in their workings. Touchscreens are one of the latest ways to make technology easier to maneuver and operate. You simply touch the part of the screen that symbolizes the button you want to push and the device will carry out the demand. There are several different technological devices that use touchscreens in today’s time, including phones, laptops, monitors and projectors. The pros and cons of using these different devices with touchscreens are important when deciding between a touchscreen and one without.
Phones
Cellular phones are a household commodity, almost more common than landline phones, in America today. Literally dozens of cell phones that are available on the market offer a touchscreen version to make it easier for the owner to operate them. Benefits of owning a phone with a touchscreen include easy-push buttons, smoother operation, and even easier texting and dialing. There are of course a few downfalls of owning a phone with a touchscreen. Dropping, pressing too hard, or using a stylus on a phone’s touchscreen can cause damages that are costly to fix.
Laptops
Like phones, laptops are on the increase for household computer usage as well. The mobility of laptops makes it simpler to own one instead of a desktop. Many laptops also offer touchscreens for easier operation. A stylus or your finger can be used to type, surf the web, and even write in your own handwriting on laptops with touchscreens. These, of course, can also get damaged by pressing too hard or scratching the screen with the stylus. Touchscreen laptops are also usually much more expensive than other laptops, so it would be worth your while to check out the options for either to find out if a touchscreen is right for you.
Monitors
Laptop monitors aren’t the only computers that offer touchscreens. Desktop monitors can also be bought in touchscreen form. These monitors are most commonly found in places like restaurants, so the menu option the customer chooses can simply be pressed on the screen, and in the health care field, making it easier for nurses and doctors to take notes and choose options as a patient is being examined. Professional settings are where you are most likely to encounter touchscreen monitors for desktop computers. Though these can also be damaged, it generally takes more to damage a touchscreen desktop monitor than any other form of touchscreen technology.
Projectors
Educational settings have always used projectors of some kind to help better get their point across. Teachers use projectors all the time to broadcast what they need their students to see on a larger surface. Today, projectors also have touchscreens. Smart Boards use touchscreen-friendly "markers" that can push buttons while standing at the board when the projector itself is in the back of the room. These tools make education much easier for both the teacher and the students, and are very popular choices for modern classrooms.
