Always construct your articles to be original, informative and helpful. Your articles have to be original. It's your goal to provide articles to establish your own expertise with your readers, not a copy of someone else's knowledge. Never take another author's previously published article and attach your name as author.Likewise do not take excerpts or pieces of others' articles, unless you are prepared to note the original author and use it as a direct quote. Then contact the various authors and ask permission to re-submit key words to each article in the directory. By doing this, the poorly key-worded articles would be upgraded during the next search engine robotic spider visit. By optimizing the key words, using the Long Tail Theory, the articles, which received little if any traffic coming from the search engines would appear to have a new life. Thus, boosting these articles that had key words modified, each would receive more traffic.
There is nothing worse than reviewing an article and seeing 5/10 links that are owned by the author embedded within the content of the article. Granted, sometimes you have something unique to help others with and you need to get the word out, I like to see such promotion but ONLY if it is useful for the readers and it is FREE, not a paid service or product. Try not to use this unique information within every single article that you write. This info will then become a little useless for the editors and they may even delete that section.
